Our Roots in Prince Edward County
171 Main Street has long been part of Wellington's tradition of warm hospitality. Originally zoned for tourist lodging, the property has welcomed generations of visitors—from fishing and boating enthusiasts to couples and families exploring Prince Edward County. Today, The Getaway remains one of the region’s licensed Short Term Accommodation (STA) providers, offering guests a peaceful retreat with easy access to everything the County has to offer.
 

How It Started
We’re the Mendelin family, and our connection to PEC began in 2007 when we started spending summer holidays here. Like so many, we fell in love with the County’s beaches, food, wine, and relaxed lifestyle. In 2015, a "for sale" sign led us to this lakeside gem—then known as Pilgrim’s Landing—and by April 2016, it became ours.

Over time, and with the help of a fantastic local contractor, we thoughtfully restored and updated the property. In 2020, we officially opened The Getaway Wellington with support from the amazing team at Property Sisters, a local property management company. Their expertise helps us provide a seamless, welcoming guest experience from the moment you arrive.
 

Your Stay, Thoughtfully Prepared
Like many of our guests, we wanted a place that felt relaxing and comfortable, with everything you need to slow down and recharge. That’s the energy we’ve infused into The Getaway—four private one-bedroom suites, each with cozy beds, deluxe linens and towels, private bathrooms, and stocked kitchens. From popcorn and blankets to board games and Smart TVs, we’ve curated a space where you can feel at home, whether you’re here for two nights or ten.
 

We offer 10% off bookings of three nights or more, and 20% off when you stay six nights or more. Saturday check-ins are also a great way to enjoy a quieter weekend and avoid the Sunday traffic rush.
